Dr. Amber Brancolini

Dr. Amber Brancolini completed her undergraduate schooling at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. She completed her doctorate at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2007. Following graduation, Dr. Brancolini completed a one-year general practice residency with Christiana Care Health System at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE. There she worked beside the oral surgery residents to plan out implant placement and restorations and spent hours in the OR with pediatric patients being sedated for extensive treatment. Dr. Brancolini was at a private practice in Southwestern PA for 12 years before joining our group in order to more specifically focus on occlusal therapy in addition to all other general practice procedures.

Dr. Brancolini currently resides in Canonsburg with her husband, daughter, and precious puppy. She enjoys being a mom, wife, and dentist. Her happiest days are spent helping people feel and look better. She wants everyone to have the smile they want and deserve.

Dr. Stephen CrandallChief Clinical Advisor

Dr. Crandall graduated from Upper St. Clair High School and completed his BS degree in Pre-Medicine at Pennsylvania State University where he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honorary Society. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 1983.

His first practice was opened in Cranberry Township in 1984, followed by his Upper St. Clair location in 1985. In 1990 he received his training for placement of Dental Implants, studying under Dr. Jack Hahn. He then completed course work with Dr. Frank Spears at the Seattle Institute where he trained in cosmetics and complex restorative dentistry. From 1995 through 1999 he attended the Pankey Institute in Florida where he learned in detail about occlusal disease and how the teeth can function in harmony with the jaw joints to help people suffering with Tmj problems.

After years of commuting, he sold his Cranberry office in 2001 and practices solely in his Upper St. Clair location. In his pursuit of excellence, he has continued to take additional course work on complex restorative dentistry in all of it’s aspects. He considers himself to be a lifelong student in the pursuit of excellence.

In 2004 he added his certification in providing Invisalign® treatment and Cerec restorations. In 2016 he got certified for Pinhole Rejuvenation.

After 36 years of direct patient care, Dr. Crandall is transitioning solely to the role of Chief Clinical Advisor for SHDA. We are very excited about the opportunity this transition presents and the positive effect it will have on bringing our established protocols and philosophy of care to more and more people in our community. Starting January 2021, his sole focus as Chief Clinical Advisor will encompass the ongoing support and training on our philosophy of care for all of our dentists and team members at our locations.

Dr. Samir Gupta

Dr. Gupta was born and raised right here in the suburbs of Pittsburgh! After graduating from Fox Chapel High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. Before attending dental school, Dr. Gupta chose to take a year working and traveling. In Peru, he volunteered in health clinics to educate the poorer population about oral health care and helped build a school to support children in a rural area. He then moved to Philadelphia and earned his DMD from The Kornberg School of Dentistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors in 2018.

Dr. Gupta is committed to transparent communication, patient education, and high quality of care in all aspects of dentistry.  Dr. Gupta‘s patients always appreciate his professional integrity and warm demeanor. He is determined to help his patients understand the importance of oral health and its value in overall systemic health.

A strong believer in philanthropy, Dr. Gupta served as Founder and President of Operation Smile at both the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. Operation Smile is a global nonprofit which provides free and safe surgeries in low- and middle-income countries to children with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Gupta has interests in sports, fitness, traveling, and photography. He is happy to be back in his hometown of Pittsburgh, living in the city with his wife and their new family addition, a cavapoo puppy, Mango!

Dr. Kim Janusz

Dr. Janusz received both her undergraduate degree and her postgraduate dental degree from Indiana University. Dr. Janusz then stayed to start her dental career in Bloomington, IN. While in Indiana, Dr. Janusz participated in many community outreach programs and numerous continuing education courses to further her expertise in the field of dentistry. Dr. Janusz has received advanced training in many areas of the dental field including crown and bridge, endodontics, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Janusz is now happy to be closer to her family and to call Pittsburgh home.

Dr. Karen Johnson

Dr. Johnson completed her undergraduate schooling at Indiana University and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. She completed the distinguished General Practice Residency at the Veteran Affairs Hospital located here in Pittsburgh. Training with experts in their field allowed for Dr. Johnson to excel and complete advanced training in multiple areas of general, crown and bridge, root canal therapy, pinhole rejuvenation, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Johnson has also attended the Pankey Institute to study and treat TMJ and occlusion to ensure every patient she has the privilege to serve receives exceptional long lasting functional and highly aesthetic care. She trained with Frank Spear at the Spear Institute in cosmetics and comprehensive restorative dentistry. She is a member of our local Spear Study Club, which meets monthly to collaborate in the pursuit of dental excellence. As a newly appointed Partner of South Hills Dental Arts, Dr. Johnson, leads side by side with Dr. Crandall ensuring their extraordinary care is received for years to come.

Dr. Hadil Yousef

Graduating dental school with high honors positioned Dr. Yousef to be accepted into a two-year, hospital-based, general practice residency program at Western Reserve Health in Ohio. The advanced training she received in her residency program focused on a wide range of dental procedures including pre-prosthetic, bone grafting and implant surgeries, sleep apnea, and cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Yousef received extensive post-graduate advanced implant and orthodontics training that qualified her to achieve the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Associate Fellowship Status, the International Association of Orthodontics Active Status, and the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship as well. Additionally, Dr. Yousef is able to provide traditional wire braces, fast braces and as a certified Invisalign provider, she also offers clear aligner orthodontics. She has extensive training by the Dawson Academy in TMJ, Bite therapy, and Aesthetic Dentistry, and offers Botox and Dermal Filler services as a certified provider by the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics.

After practicing in Florida and Ohio Dr. Yousef and her husband, who is a native of Upper St. Clair, moved back home in 2017 and has been with South Hills Dental Arts since then.

Alongside South Hills Dental Arts, she is eager to serve her community and patients with care and professionalism; honestly, kindly, and with as much precision as humanly possible making sure all patients leave with a big smile.

Outside of work, Dr. Yousef loves to spend time with her husband and two sons, explore new places together, and try new recipes.
