Brittany A

Brittany started with South Hills Dental Arts in October, 2022 as a traveling dental assistant for our Ingram and Sewickley locations.. She attended dental assisting school in Ohio, where she was born and raised. Brittany has been in the dental field since 2018 and loves the interactions and connections she makes with patients. Outside of the office, you will most likely find her on a beach, a mountain top, or in the kitchen cooking with her family and sous-chef, Kaizer-The Great Dane.

Julisa T.

Julisa joined South Hills Dental Arts in November 2022 and has been in the dental field since 2015. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2018. She loved working in the dental field and decided to further her education and become a Dental Hygienist graduating from University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 2021. She also holds a license in local anesthesia to ensure her patients are always comfortable. During her free time Julisa likes to bake, go on hikes, and spend time with her husband and puppy, Bailey.

Maddison S.

Maddison has been with South Hills Dental Arts since October 2022. Maddison came to SHDA because she loves how much we are patient focused and how we build relationships within our community. Maddison enjoys hanging with her daughter, playing soccer, shopping, and trying out new restaurants.

Sara Jones

Sara joined the team at SHDA Mcmurray in October 2022. Sara graduated from West Liberty University in 2007 with her Associates in Science and Dental Hygiene. Sara is excited to join SHDA to continue her passion for helping patients achieve optimal oral health, which then improves overall health as well. Sara recently moved back to her hometown of Bethel Park and enjoys being closer to her family, especially her two young nieces. Sara loves traveling and trying different restaurants with her boyfriend. Her favorite things to do are singing, listening to music and attending concerts/live music events. She also enjoys reading, walking outside, doing yoga/stretching and using coloring books.


Nuemalys has been with South Hills Dental Arts since July 2022. Nuemalys came to SHDA because she loved the culture and that patients come first above anything else. Nuemalys enjoys working out, going to the beach with her friends, listening to the Morbid podcast, watching the Steelers and Penguins, binging shows on Netflix and chilling with her family and boyfriend!

JoAnna Covelli

JoAnna has worked in the dental field since 2009 and considers dentistry to be her true love. She has assisted in all specialties of dentistry and taught an EFDA program at a local college. JoAnna enjoys spending time with her big Italian family in the kitchen making delicious meals. She has a pet tortoise, Frankie and besides dentistry JoAnna’s greatest joy is being an Aunt or “Zia” to her nephew and Godchildren.

Amanda O

Amanda has been with South Hills Dental Arts since April 2022. Amanda is currently pursuing a finance degree at the Community College of Allegheny County, and has plans to transfer to Pitt at the end of the year. Amanda joined SHDA because of the company’s atmosphere, location, and their commitment to serving every one of their patients in the best way possible. Amanda’s hobbies include coaching little league baseball, taking nature walks, and baking.

Krista C.

Krista has been with South Hills Dental Arts since December 2021. Krista graduated from Niagara University in 2018 with a BFA in Theatre Performance with a minor in Dance. Krista is excited that she gets to utilize her love of organization here at SHDA. Outside of work Krista can be found spending time with friends and family, reading, writing, attending sporting events, and working fun theatre events!

Elizabeth F.

Elizabeth joined South Hills Dental Arts in 2021, she started in administration and has been transitioning to work with patients chair side as an assistant. She has always had a drive to help people, and gets joy knowing that she is actively making a difference in people’s lives. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, and spending time with her family, and cat Rylee.

Rachel S

Rachel started with South Hills Dental Arts in February 2022. Rachel graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Liberty University in 2020. She came to SHDA because she has a passion for teeth and smiles and loves the atmosphere and values here. In her free time, Rachel enjoys hiking, reading, kayaking, and finding new restaurants with her husband.

Leah M

Leah joined our team in September 2021. She has been in the dental field for 14 years. Leah loves helping others and making a difference in their smile. In her spare time Leah enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Leah H.

Leah joined our team in July of 2021 and has been working as an EFDA since she got her license in 2018. She also has a Bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University. She loves improving her skills and learning as much as she can about dentistry. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and her dog, Gus.

Steven R. Crandall, DMD

After 36 years of direct patient care Dr. Crandall is transitioning solely to the role of Chief Clinical Advisor for SHDA. We are very excited about the opportunity this transition presents and the positive effect it will have on bringing our established protocols and philosophy of care to more and more people in our community. Starting January 2021, his sole focus as Chief Clinical Advisor will encompass the ongoing support and training on our philosophy of care for all of our dentists and team members at our locations.

Jessica Q.

Jessica has been with South Hills Dental Arts since February of 2021 as a billing coordinator. She has an extensive background in the hospitality industry, previously working for Hilton, and decided to join SHDA for a complete career change! Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, boating with friends, and traveling.

Nate H.

Nate has been with South Hills Dental Arts since November 2021. Nate graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Relations in 2018. Nate came to SHDA because he loves how patient oriented we are, which is something he’s passionate about. Nate’s hobbies include: trying new coffee shops, hiking, reading, hanging out with his girlfriend, and disc golfing.

Sara W.

Sara started with South Hills Dental Arts in March 2022. She graduated from Everest Institute with the President’s List award in Accounting. Sara is excited to bring her payroll knowledge and organizational skills to the position, and is eager to learn along the way. Patient focused and happiness have always been a priority for Sara, and she is happy to have found that at South Hills Dental Arts. Outside of work Sara enjoys riding quads, camping, hiking and spending quality time with her husband and three daughters.


Babs is our patient coordinator. She has been with us since 1999 and has been involved in the field of dentistry for over 40 years! Her many duties include, answering the phone, scheduling patients, completing new patient interviews, and a variety of other things. When Babs is not in the office, you will find her spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren.

Melissa McBride

Melissa has been a lab technician for over 20 years and has been part of our team since January 2019. Taking on an active role in learning digital CEREC cad-cam design has furthered her skills in the industry. Outside of work Melissa shoots competitive archery and holds multiple national and state titles setting many records. She also enjoys camping and boating with her husband and friends.

Dr. Amber Brancolini

Dr. Amber Brancolini completed her undergraduate schooling at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. She completed her doctorate at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2007. Following graduation, Dr. Brancolini completed a one-year general practice residency with Christiana Care Health System at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Brancolini was at a private practice in Southwestern PA for 12 years before joining our group in order to more specifically focus on occlusal therapy in addition to all other general practice procedures.

Dr. Brancolini currently resides in McMurray with her husband, daughter, and precious puppy. She enjoys being a mom, wife, and dentist. Her happiest days are spent helping people feel and look better. She wants everyone to have the smile they want and deserve.

Dr. Steven CrandallChief Clinical Advisor

Dr. Crandall graduated from Upper St. Clair High School and completed his BS degree in Pre-Medicine at Pennsylvania State University where he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honorary Society. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine in 1983.

His first practice was opened in Cranberry Township in 1984, followed by his Upper St. Clair location in 1985. In 1990 he received his training for placement of Dental Implants, studying under Dr. Jack Hahn. He then completed course work with Dr. Frank Spears at the Seattle Institute where he trained in cosmetics and complex restorative dentistry. From 1995 through 1999 he attended the Pankey Institute in Florida where he learned in detail about occlusal disease and how the teeth can function in harmony with the jaw joints to help people suffering with Tmj problems.

After years of commuting, he sold his Cranberry office in 2001 and practices solely in his Upper St. Clair location. In his pursuit of excellence, he has continued to take additional course work on complex restorative dentistry in all of it’s aspects. He considers himself to be a lifelong student in the pursuit of excellence.

In 2004 he added his certification in providing Invisalign® treatment and Cerec restorations. In 2016 he got certified for Pinhole Rejuvenation.

Dr. Samir Gupta

Dr. Gupta was born and raised right here in the suburbs of Pittsburgh! After graduating from Fox Chapel High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. Before attending dental school, Dr. Gupta chose to take a year working and traveling. In Peru, he volunteered in health clinics to educate the poorer population about oral health care and helped build a school to support children in a rural area. He then moved to Philadelphia and earned his DMD from The Kornberg School of Dentistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors in 2018.

Dr. Gupta is committed to transparent communication, patient education, and high quality of care in all aspects of dentistry.  Dr. Gupta‘s patients always appreciate his professional integrity and warm demeanor. He is determined to help his patients understand the importance of oral health and its value in overall systemic health.

A strong believer in philanthropy, Dr. Gupta served as Founder and President of Operation Smile at both the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. Operation Smile is a global nonprofit which provides free and safe surgeries in low- and middle-income countries to children with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Gupta has interests in sports, fitness, traveling, and photography. He is happy to be back in his hometown of Pittsburgh, living in the city with his wife and their new family addition, a cavapoo puppy, Mango!

Dr. Kim Janusz

Dr. Janusz received both her undergraduate degree and her postgraduate dental degree from Indiana University. Dr. Janusz then stayed to start her dental career in Bloomington, IN. While in Indiana, Dr. Janusz participated in many community outreach programs and numerous continuing education courses to further her expertise in the field of dentistry. Dr. Janusz has received advanced training in many areas of the dental field including crown and bridge, endodontics, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Janusz is now happy to be closer to her family and to call Pittsburgh home.


Adrienne came to work for us after Dr. Todorovich sold his Prosthodontic practice to us in January 2019. She does the insurance breakdowns for the patients at all three locations. She is married and has two children and one rather new granddaughter who is three months old. On Fridays she really enjoys spending time with her, especially when she smiles! She also loves decorating the office for the different holidays and taking care of plants.


Lindsay attended the Bradford School where she graduated with high honors. Following graduation, she worked for three years as an EFDA, before transitioning to a management position with her last company. Lindsay was quickly promoted to Regional Director, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations for 7 dental practices across western Pennsylvania. She loves to read, garden and spend time with family and friends.


Shawna is new to South Hills Dental Arts and Pittsburgh, she moved from Colorado in January 2021. She has been in the dental field for 8 years and really enjoys meeting and talking with patients and ensuring they receive the best care. In her spare-time she loves to travel and explore new cities, she especially loves to visit her daughter who lives in London. Shawna is looking forward to exploring Pittsburgh with her boyfriend and decorating their new house.

Nicole C.

Nicole C joined South Hills Dental Arts after spending ten years in the medical field starting in urgent care and moving up to administration. She really missed working with patients and is so happy to find herself back in such a patient oriented office. When she is not in the office she enjoys spending time outdoors either working in her garden, hiking, or camping with friends, then relaxing at home with a good book or paint by numbers.

Tess E.

Tess joined the SHDA team and the dental world in October 2021 after spending 13+ years in the beauty industry. She is enjoying the change of pace that comes with the dental industry and getting to work more one-on-one with patients. In her free time, you can catch her spending time at home with her cats, Gus and Smalls, taking a fun workout class or spending time with her friends.


Taylor has been a phlebotomist for about 3 years and graduated from the phlebotomy training center in 2018. She decided to transition into dentistry in 2020. She loves her position as a dental assistant and strives to give her patients the best care they can receive. She plans to continue to learn more and grow within the field. She was married in September of 2019 and loves spending time at home with her husband and their dog. She also enjoys seeing friends and family, the gym, cooking, concerts and anything outdoors!


Lauren graduated in 2018 from Bradford Dental School and has her radiology certification! Lauren has been with South Hills Dental Arts for five years and she has loved every minute of it. Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing and crafting. She also enjoys working around the house on the weekends and going out for shopping therapy at Target or Kohls! Lauren is very dedicated to South Hills Dental Arts and her patients’ happiness. If you ever see Lauren at the Upper St. Clair location, make sure to stop and say hello!


RJ is a native Angeleno and recently moved in Pittsburgh around July of 2020 to be with his girlfriend. He has been with us since October of 2020. He went to the Philippines for Dental School and graduated in 2015 and earned the degree DMD. In 2016 he went back to California and worked in Beverly Hills for 4 years as an RDA. He plans to continue his education to earn the degree DDS here in the states. During his free time, he likes to spend it with his girlfriend, family and close friends. He also loves to travel and visit other countries and learn different cultures.


Curtis started in the dental profession in 2004. His first position was as an administrative assistant at the Upper St. Clair Location. He quickly became comfortable with the administrative department and decided to get more hands on through training as an assistant and lab technician. In 2010, Curtis became the operations Manager for South Hills Dental Arts and in 2018 he moved into the role of Chief Executive Officer. Now he oversees the development and business relations at all locations. When he is not working he enjoys snow skiing with his family and spending time and traveling with his wife and two daughters.

Amanda L.

Amanda completed her education with honors at Bradford School in 2012. She is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at our Sewickley location. What she enjoys the most about the office is getting to interact so warmly with patients while helping them improve their smiles! Amanda currently resides in Hopewell Township with her husband, 3 children, and 3 dogs. Outside the office, you’ll find her spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, going to country concerts, and helping out with her husband’s volunteer fire department

Noreen L.

Noreen has been with South Hills Dental Arts since August 2022. She brings over 15 years of front office experience as well as two years of store management experience. Noreen joined SHDA because she loves to see people smile. When she is not at the office, Noreen can most likely be found with her husband of 10 years at the baseball field or hockey rink cheering on her two boys.

Elizabeth B.

Liz joined South Hills Dental Arts in July 2022 as a Treatment Care Coordinator. She is currently in school for EFDA certification. Liz has made a large career change in the last year to join the dental world after being in Retail Management for 15 years. When she is not at work she enjoys being with her husband Jim of 9 years and her 3 children.

Amanda P.

Amanda dove into the dental field head first 6 years ago with no prior knowledge. During her time in the field she has found a true passion for helping patients and getting to know them on a personal level. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff and their son Landon. Their greatest joy is found on their farm where they have an interesting assortment of animals.


Tori graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Dental Hygiene Program in 2015. After receiving her Dental Hygiene Certificate, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2016. She is also licensed to administer local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort. After working a few years in Florida, she moved back to the Pittsburgh area early 2019 and started working for South Hills Dental Arts. In her spare time, Tori likes to ski, bake, spend time with her dog and husband, and explore new cities.


Andrea has been working with us since 2017, and is currently at our Sewickley location. She started in the dental field in 2002 and has experience in all areas of the dental office. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from The University of Pittsburgh in 2006, and went on to receive her Dental Hygiene Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. Andrea is licensed to administer local anesthetic to ensure her patients are comfortable. Besides being a hygienist, Andrea is also our Social Media Coordinator. She is originally from New Castle and currently resides in Sewickley with her husband and three children. In her spare time she enjoys working out, hiking, skiing, participating in races, and watching her favorite sports teams (H2P!). She also enjoys walking her dog, Churchill, trying new recipes, attending concerts, reading, listening to podcasts, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.


Michelle is our lead dental assistant and has been involved in dentistry since 2008. She was trained through the Expanded Function Dental Assisting program at the Bradford School. Michelle has received advanced training in CEREC cad-cam design and provides high quality porcelain restoration onsite for our patients. The reason Michelle got into dentistry was because she has always loved helping people. In her free time Michelle enjoys spending time with her two sons Jayden and Christian


Dave graduated from Bradford School and has held his Expanded Function Dental Assisting license since 2009. He has worked in clinical dentistry since that time while working towards his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, which he earned in 2016 form Robert Morris University. He now takes on an administrative role but still offers his support to the clinical team. Outside of work, Dave loves to be with his wife and daughter, listen to music, play guitar, watch and play sports and cook.


Polina was born and raised in Tallinn, Estonia. She moved to the US in 2013 and has been living in Pittsburgh ever since. In 2019 Polina has graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She also holds local anesthesia license to ensure patients get the most comfortable experience. In her free time she loves spending time with her big family, traveling and camping. Polina, her husband and their French bulldog Louie reside in Crafton area. Polina is fluent in English, Russian and Estonian languages. Polina has joined the team in August 2019 and is very passionate about oral hygiene and well-being of our patients.


Joining us in 2014, Haley is one of our Expanded Functions Dental Assistants (EFDA) and Certified Dental Assistants (CDA). Haley attended the Bradford School in Pittsburgh for dental assisting and graduated with honors in December of 2013. She earned her EFDA license in 2014 and her CDA license in 2016. Additionally, Haley received training in phlebotomy in 2017. In her free time, Haley likes to run and spend time with her family and friends.

Deb M.

Debi has been with our office since December of 1997 and assists the doctors in providing comprehensive dental treatment. Debi also has advanced training and knowledge in fabricating high-quality ceramic restorations onsite at our offices and completes numerous other dental laboratory duties. She has been a dental assistant for over 20 years in private offices. In 2007, Debi earned her Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board and in 2009, her Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate from Jefferson Community College in Ohio. Debi loves working with our patients and takes great pride in helping them have a positive experience with their dental care. She enjoys learning about the latest advances in dental technology and has had extensive training with digital CEREC cad-cam design through many continuing education courses. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, and spend time with her husband Terry, daughter Hannah, their pug Samson, and family and friends.

Dr. Karen Johnson

Dr. Johnson completed her undergraduate schooling at Indiana University and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. She completed the distinguished General Practice Residency at the Veteran Affairs Hospital located here in Pittsburgh. Training with experts in their field allowed for Dr. Johnson to excel and complete advanced training in multiple areas of general, crown and bridge, root canal therapy, pinhole rejuvenation, implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Johnson has also attended the Pankey Institute to study and treat TMJ and occlusion to ensure every patient she has the privilege to serve receives exceptional long lasting functional and highly aesthetic care. She trained with Frank Spear at the Spear Institute in cosmetics and comprehensive restorative dentistry. She is a member of our local Spear Study Club, which meets monthly to collaborate in the pursuit of dental excellence. As a newly appointed Partner of South Hills Dental Arts, Dr. Johnson, leads side by side with Dr. Crandall ensuring their extraordinary care is received for years to come.

Dr. Hadil Yousef

Graduating dental school with high honors positioned Dr. Yousef to be accepted into a two-year, hospital-based, general practice residency program at Western Reserve Health in Ohio. The advanced training she received in her residency program focused on a wide range of dental procedures including pre-prosthetic, bone grafting and implant surgeries, sleep apnea, and cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Yousef received extensive post-graduate advanced implant and orthodontics training that qualified her to achieve the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Associate Fellowship Status, the International Association of Orthodontics Active Status, and the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship as well. Additionally, Dr. Yousef is able to provide traditional wire braces, fast braces and as a certified Invisalign provider, she also offers clear aligner orthodontics. She has extensive training by the Dawson Academy in TMJ, Bite therapy, and Aesthetic Dentistry, and offers Botox and Dermal Filler services as a certified provider by the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics.

After practicing in Florida and Ohio Dr. Yousef and her husband, who is a native of Upper St. Clair, moved back home in 2017 and has been with South Hills Dental Arts since then.

Alongside South Hills Dental Arts, she is eager to serve her community and patients with care and professionalism; honestly, kindly, and with as much precision as humanly possible making sure all patients leave with a big smile.

Outside of work, Dr. Yousef loves to spend time with her husband and two sons, explore new places together, and try new recipes.
