Dental Implants

Why should I choose dental implants?

If you are struggling with missing teeth, dental implants can be the key to unlocking a brighter, more fulfilling life. With the help of dental implants, you can restore your smile and reclaim your quality of life. Unlike other tooth replacement options, dental implants go beyond just replacing the visible portion of your tooth. They anchor into your jawbone, replacing the root and providing a stable foundation for a natural-looking tooth replacement. This means you can indulge in all your favorite foods without restriction and maintain optimal oral health. Don't let missing teeth hold you back any longer - explore the transformative power of dental implants today.

The Dental Implant Treatment Process

Evaluation & Treatment Planning

Using advanced imaging technology, including photogrammetry, your dentist will create a 3D image of your teeth and gums. With these images, we can accurately assess your oral health to determine if you’re a good candidate for dental implants, and create a precise treatment plan for optimal results. Your dentist will go over their findings with you and help you decide on the best way to complete your smile.

Placing the Implant

Once you’ve been approved for treatment, we’ll schedule your oral surgery appointment. Your dentist will create an opening in the gums and place the dental implant directly into the jaw. The site will then be closed, sutured, and ready to heal. Over the next 3-6 months, the implant will fuse with the surrounding bone in a process called osseointegration. You’ll return to the office throughout the healing process so we can monitor your progress and ensure you’re healing properly.

Applying the Restoration

Once the implant is fully healed, your dentist will reopen the site and attach an abutment, the piece of the puzzle that connects the implant to the final restoration. A restoration is the visible part of the prosthesis. For example, a dental crown will be used to replace a single tooth. Your restoration will be custom-crafted to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile.

To care for a dental implant, brush and floss regularly to remove food particles and plaque buildup. You can also rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash to help reduce the risk of infection and inflammation.

To extend the lifespan of your implant restoration, avoid hard or sticky foods and the use of tobacco products, and if you grind your teeth, wear a nightguard.
