Creating the Pinholes

After numbing the area, your dentist will use a fine-point needle to create a small pinhole above the gum line.

Moving the Gums

Your dentist will insert a special dental instrument into the small opening to gently free the gums and guide them into the proper position. Collagen strips will then be placed to help stabilize the gums and encourage healing.

Healing

Remarkably, healing often occurs overnight! Most patients can resume their normal routines in 24-48 hours.
