Discover the Beauty of Custom Veneers
Transform your smile with custom porcelain veneers that deliver natural-looking, long-lasting results.
Have you noticed minor imperfections in your smile, such as chips, gaps, or discoloration, that make you hesitant to share your full smile with the world? These concerns can impact your confidence in both personal and professional settings, leaving you seeking a solution that appears natural and feels comfortable. The good news is that modern cosmetic dentistry offers transformative options that can address multiple aesthetic concerns in just a few visits.
At South Hills Dental Arts’ Ingram / Crafton location, we’ve spent 35 years perfecting the art of creating beautiful smiles throughout Pittsburgh. Our advanced Digital Smile Design technology allows you to see your exact smile outcome before treatment even begins, ensuring you’ll love your results. Conveniently located at 2725 Center St, we make achieving your dream smile easier than ever with same-day porcelain veneers using our CEREC technology.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of dental ceramic that bond directly to the front surface of your teeth. These custom-crafted restorations measure about the thickness of a contact lens, yet they provide remarkable strength and durability. Each veneer is individually designed to match your natural tooth color, shape, and size, creating a seamless integration with your existing smile.
The porcelain material used in veneers closely mimics the light-reflecting properties of natural tooth enamel. This means your veneers won’t just look white; they’ll have the same translucency and depth as healthy teeth. The result is a smile that appears naturally beautiful rather than artificially perfect. Modern porcelain is also highly resistant to staining, maintaining its brilliant appearance even if you enjoy coffee, tea, or red wine.
The Benefits of Choosing Veneers
Veneers offer versatility that few other cosmetic treatments can match. A single treatment can address multiple concerns, including stained or discolored teeth that don’t respond to whitening, chips and minor cracks, gaps between teeth, slightly misaligned teeth, and worn or uneven tooth edges. This comprehensive approach means you can achieve a complete smile makeover without multiple procedures.
The durability of porcelain veneers makes them an excellent long-term investment in your smile. According to the Cleveland Clinic, veneers typically last 10 to 15 years with proper care. The porcelain material resists staining better than natural tooth enamel, ensuring your bright smile maintains its appearance for years to come.
Beyond the aesthetic benefits, veneers can also provide functional improvements. They can protect damaged tooth surfaces from further wear and help restore proper bite alignment in cases of minor irregularities. Many patients find that veneers boost their self-confidence, leading to more frequent smiling and improved social interactions. The psychological impact of feeling good about your smile extends into every area of life.

Our Advanced Veneer Process
Your veneer journey at our Ingram/Crafton office begins with a free virtual consultation. Simply send us photos of your teeth along with your smile goals, and our treatment coordinators will respond with a personalized video consultation. This convenient service allows you to explore your options from the comfort of your home.
During your in-office consultation, we use 3D Vectra Facial Scanning and photogrammetry to create a precise digital model of your smile. Our Digital Smile Design software then allows us to show you exactly how your new smile will look. You’ll have the opportunity to provide input on the shape, size, and shade of your veneers before any treatment begins. This collaborative approach ensures you’re thrilled with the planned outcome.
Thanks to our CEREC system and in-house 3D printing capabilities, we can often provide same-day porcelain veneers, eliminating the need for temporary restorations and multiple appointments. During your preparation appointment, we remove a minimal amount of enamel, usually less than a millimeter. We then take detailed digital impressions using our CAD/CAM technology. Your custom veneers are milled right in our office while you relax with our comfort amenities.
Candidates for Veneer Treatment
Most adults with good oral health make excellent candidates for veneers. Ideal candidates have healthy teeth and gums, sufficient tooth enamel for bonding, and realistic expectations about their results. If you have habits like teeth grinding, we can discuss protective measures such as a custom night guard to protect your investment. The beauty of veneers lies in their ability to create dramatic improvements for a wide range of patients.
Certain conditions may require treatment before veneer placement. Active gum disease needs to be resolved first to ensure a healthy foundation. Severe misalignment might benefit from clear aligners before veneers. Large cavities or extensive damage may be better suited for dental crowns. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your oral health and recommend the best path forward.
Some patients worry about the preparation process, but modern veneer techniques are more conservative than ever. In some cases, we can even place no-prep veneers that require little to no enamel removal. These ultra-thin veneers work well for patients with small teeth or those seeking minor enhancements. We’ll discuss all options to find the approach that best preserves your natural tooth structure.
How Same-Day Veneer Technology Works?
Our CEREC technology revolutionizes the veneer process at our Ingram/Crafton location. Traditional veneers require sending impressions to an outside laboratory, wearing temporaries for weeks, and returning for placement. With CEREC, we complete the entire process in one comfortable visit. This means less time off work, no uncomfortable temporaries, and immediate results.
The digital design process allows unprecedented precision and customization. We can adjust every aspect of your veneers on-screen, from subtle contour changes to overall length and width. You watch as we perfect your smile design, ensuring complete satisfaction before milling begins. The ceramic blocks used for CEREC veneers come in various shades and translucencies, allowing us to match your natural teeth or create the brighter smile you desire.
Once designed, our milling unit carves your veneers from solid ceramic blocks in about 15 minutes per tooth. We then polish, glaze, and sometimes add custom coloring for perfect aesthetics. After verifying fit and appearance, we bond the veneers using advanced adhesives that create a powerful connection. You leave our office with your permanent, beautiful new smile the same day.
Caring for Your New Veneers
Maintaining your veneers requires the same good oral hygiene habits you’d use for natural teeth. Brush twice daily with a non-abrasive toothpaste, floss daily to maintain healthy gum tissue, and visit us regularly for professional cleanings and check-ups. While veneers are durable, avoid using your teeth as tools or biting extremely hard objects, like ice or hard candy.
With proper care, your veneers will maintain their beautiful appearance for many years. The porcelain material won’t decay, but the underlying tooth structure and surrounding gum tissue still need protection through good oral hygiene. Regular dental visits allow us to monitor your veneers and address any concerns before they become problems. We’ll also check the integrity of the bonding and polish any minor surface irregularities.
Many patients find that investing in veneers encourages better oral care habits. When you love your smile, you’re more likely to take excellent care of it. This improved maintenance often benefits your overall oral health, creating a positive cycle of care and confidence.
