Take-Home Whitening vs. In-Office Zoom Whitening
The In-Office Zoom Whitening Process
Consultation
You’ll first meet with your dentist to examine the state of your overall oral health and discuss your smile whitening goals. If your dentist approves you for treatment, they’ll outline a plan to make your desired brightness possible.
Treatment Prep
Next, your dentist will prep you for the Zoom treatment. An expander will be placed in your mouth to keep your lips from coming into contact with the whitening solution. You’ll also be given glasses to protect your eyes during the procedure.
Application
Your dentist will carefully apply the whitening solution to your teeth and activate it using a special light. Zoom whitening treatments typically take 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once treatment is complete, you’ll enjoy a beautiful smile that’s several shades whiter.

Digital Smile Design Experience
With Digital Smile Design, we’re able to blend science and creativity to plan your whitening treatment perfectly. This cutting-edge technology allows you to see what your smile will look like after whitening is complete. You’ll feel confident going into treatment knowing exactly what to expect!

Frequently Asked Questions
If teeth whitening is the best option to help you smile brighter, your dentist will take digital impressions of your teeth with an intraoral scanner. These impressions will be sent to a dental lab, where a set of custom whitening trays will be created for your teeth. Once your custom trays are ready, you’ll come back into our office to pick them up along with a set of instructions. Then, you’ll simply follow these instructions and whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home.
Determining if you are a good candidate for teeth whitening depends on a variety of factors, including the state of your overall oral health, whether you have any dental restorations, and the cause of discoloration. Consulting with a dentist from South Hills Dental Arts is the best way to find out if teeth whitening is right for you. They can assess the full scope of your oral health and recommend a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve the bright, beautiful smile you desire.
